Thank you to everyone who has shared their views on the future of Wood Street Surgery since it was last open in 2019.
As you will probably know, we had to close the building during the COVID-19 pandemic as the building’s age and design made it unsuitable for the delivery of safe GP-led services.
Unfortunately, a detailed review showed that Wood Street Surgery could not be reopened in its present condition and renovating it would not deliver the changes needed.
After looking at all other options, the local NHS has agreed that the Wood Street closure can become permanent.
You can still access GP-led services at Rivermead Gate Medical Centre, as our patients have been doing for the past four years. There are other practices in the area should you wish to transfer, and you can find out more at www.nhs.uk/service-search/find-a-gp
