Mental health crisis

Crisis response service 111, select option for mental health crisis (CRS)

NHS 111 option 2 provide a single point of contact for people facing a mental health crisis with access to care 7 days a week and 24 hours a day in the same way that they are able to get access to urgent physical health care.

People can self-refer by calling NHS 111 Mental Health and selecting the option for mental health crisis and our call centre.

We have a dedicated phone line for ambulance, police, GP’s and professionals to refer people to CRS.

CRS work with the other teams to ensure the right care is given to people facing a mental health crisis.

Some of the teams we work with are:

  • Mid/South home treatment teams
  • Mental Health Liaison Teams (MHLT)
  • The Crisis house and sanctuary plus
  • Primary Care Network (PCN)
  • Social care and non-statutory providers

Any health care Professionals and members of the public can self-refer.
