Provide’s physiotherapy self-referral for mid Essex is now live
Provide CIC can now offer direct access to its community physiotherapy service via a new Smart Referral Platform.
Offering access to a simple self-referral process for Physiotherapy has been shown to significantly reduce the demand on primary care, the need for prescribed medication and empower individuals to be more responsible for their musculoskeletal heath and care.
Self-referrals can be submitted for a musculoskeletal problem via the Physiotherapy Service website and will be robustly triaged based on the commissioned physiotherapy service criteria.
Users will then be directed to appropriate self-management digital resources via the Provide Physiotherapy website prior to being offered an initial assessment appointment.
Self-referrals can be initiated by individuals without the need to consult a healthcare professional or on the recommendation of a primary care practitioner following a consultation. The system is open to any adult registered with a mid Essex GP practice
