Travel Vaccinations


NaTHacCfit for travel

We are now able to get a reduced supply of Hepatitis A – Adult vaccine and are taking bookings for travel vaccinations.

However, patients should be aware that due to the limited stock of certain travel vaccines; they will need to allow a longer period of time for planning vaccine courses.

Please complete and return a travel risk assessment at least two to three months before travelling.

When booking your appointment please give us your destination and travel dates.

Booster injections

The nurse will assess your whether any boosters requested can be safely delayed to allow us to better manage our stock until supplies have stabilised.

We may contact you regarding the need for your vaccination when the nurse has reviewed your records and to advise you when vaccinations are not needed.

The surgery offers a limited NHS travel vaccination service and does not give telephone advice on travel.


The following travel vaccinations are usually available free on the NHS

– diptheria, polio and tetnus (combinded booster)

– typhoid

– hepatitis A

Other Vaccinations

Rabies – a fee applies

Meningitis ACWY – a fee applies

Hepatitis B – a fee may be charged

Appointments should be at least 6 weeks before you travel to allow for courses of vaccinations to be completed.

Please print and complete the travel risk form and submit it to the practice at least 24 hours before you appointment to allow us to review your record Travel Form

The travel form must be completed and handed in to reception before booking your appointment with the nurse.

We give advice about Malaria prophylaxis. It is important that you receive up to date information and the correct treatment from either your travel health provider, or local pharmacist.

Japanese Encephalitis, Tick-born Encephalitis, Yellow Fever, Varicella, ACWY Meningitis & Tuberculosis
